Phonetic Analysis Tools
Tools for phonetic analysis try to examine a text or a word in terms of their sound, using the rules of the spoken language. They identify same as or similar sounding words in a text. In practical use, such tools are used to e.g. provide proposals on similar sounding words in search engines. Two well-known algorithms for phonetic analysis are Soundex and the Metaphone algorithm.
